November 3, 2025 — On Friday, October 31, 2025, representatives from the University of Queensland (UQ) visited the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Indonesia to sign a letter of commitment (LoC) between FISIP UI and UQ. This ceremonial procession affirmed FISIP UI’s efforts to strengthen its global presence, standing alongside and competing with other universities on an international scale.

The signing of the letter of commitment, which took place in the FISIP UI’s Nurani Meeting Room, is the first step in a collaborative effort to develop a joint or double degree program. Later on, the program will allow students to pursue their studies at the said affiliated university with specially designed curriculum programs. The collaboration between FISIP UI and the University of Queensland as affiliated campuses is a program developed within the scope of each department, including the Department of Criminology.

Currently, UQ ranks 42nd in the world’s best universities ranking, according to The QS Ranking. UQ’s Criminology and Criminal Justice program focuses on theoretical knowledge of crime and the development of practical skills in the field of law and justice. The collaboration between the Department of Criminology, Universitas Indonesia and University of Queensland is expected to enrich and expand knowledge of the discipline of criminology as a whole.
