The Undergraduate Program of the Department of Criminology is always committed to preparing students to become moral members of society and to have superior academic and / or professional abilities in the Criminology field and to be able to solve problems and challenges, nationally and regionally (Southeast Asia).

Our Vision

To realize the Undergraduate Program of Criminology as the best institution for undergraduate criminology program in ASEAN.

Our Mission

To prepare the students to be citizens with high moral ground and excellent academic and professional capabilities in criminology and competitive ability in ASEAN.

Expected Learning Outcome

 

Graduates who are able to:
  • Commit to life-long learning that includes IT development and knowledge, arts, and sports.
  • Able to cooperate and adapt to their environment and be actively engaged to and serve their society.
  • Communicate in Indonesian and English to articulate ideas in written and oral means.
  • Think and argue critically in analysing criminal problems.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research in criminology.

1.1. know  IT to search, process and manage data

2.2. apply personal ethics that is moral integrity, honesty, discipline, respect to others.

3. Communicate in Indonesian and English to articulate ideas in written and oral means.

3.1. write academic paper based on research result in grammatically correct and appropriate Indonesian and English.

3.2. present and defend academic work orally in academic fora in grammatically correct and appropriate Indonesian and English.

4. Think and argue critically in analysing criminal problems

4.1. know basics of ontology, epistemology, criminological methodology.

4.2. explain the interconnectedness of criminology and other social sciences.

4.3. identify relevant criminological theories to explain criminal fenomena.

4.4. use critically criminological concepts, theories and thoughts to analyse criminal fenomena in Indonesia and South East Asia.

4.5. know basics of ontology, epistemology, sociological methodology.

4.6. explain interrelation of sociology and criminology.

4.7. describe the differences and similarities between criminological perspective and criminal justice perspective.

4.8. know basic theories and methods of punishment.

4.9. know how socialisation of values and norms, socialisation agents and social control agents work. 

4.10. know basic theories, typology, advocacy of victims of crimes.

4.11. know of strategies of crime-prevention.

4.12. know of criminal justice system.

4.13. know gender perspective in criminality.

4.14. know how criminal policy works.

4.15. know human rights in criminological perspective.

5. Conduct quantitative and qualitative research in criminology.

5.1. explain approaches to quantitative and qualitative research in criminology as the valid methods to gain valid knowledge.

5.2. write research proposal in criminology.

5.3. apply research concepts and methods.

5.4. conduct and report research.

5.5. read critically research reports published in academic journals.

5.6. conduct secondary data analysis (for minor thesis).

5.7. independently collect data and asses the reliability and validity (for undergraduate thesis).

    • Registration for S1 Regular Classes from SNMPTN – UTBK / SBMPTN follows the applicable provisions in each of these programs.
    • Registration of Regular Class of Undergraduate Program from SIMAK UI is required to complete the registration and online requirements at https://penerimaan.ui.ac.id
    • Graduates of high school / MA / equivalent, diploma age maximum 3 years back at the time of registration (Example: Registration conducted in 2019, the certificate received is only validated in 2019, 2018 and 2017.)
