Vision

The vision of the Criminology Doctoral Program at FISIP UI is to establish the Department of Criminology, FISIP UI, as an academically excellent department in Criminology, recognized both nationally in Indonesia and internationally. This is in line with Universitas Indonesia’s efforts to become an internationally recognized academic center of excellence in Indonesia.

Mission

Based on this vision, the mission of the Doctoral program is to produce Doctors of Criminology who are ready to become:

  1. To educate students to become members of society with academic capabilities in applying, developing, and/or enriching the body of knowledge and technology in criminology, which is used to understand and solve crime problems, and to disseminate its use to improve the quality of life of society and enrich national culture.
  2. To develop the science and technology of criminology through research, development, and education, based on the social realities faced by the Indonesian nation, which is nationally relevant and internationally recognized.
  3. To apply the science and technology of criminology for the benefit of society as a form of community service.

Objectives

The objective of the Criminology Doctoral Program at FISIP UI is to prepare students to become members of society with the following characteristics:

  1. Embodying Pancasila values and possessing high personal integrity. Possessing the ability to develop and update the science and technology of criminology by mastering and understanding scientific approaches, methods, and principles, along with the skills for their application.
  2. Possessing the ability to solve crime problems at national and international levels through research and development activities based on scientific principles.
  3. Possessing the ability to develop their professional performance, demonstrated by sharp problem analysis, comprehensiveness of review, integrated problem-solving, or similar professions.

Admissions

Admissions for the new academic year are open for Undergraduate (Bachelor’s), Master’s, and Doctoral programs.

Selection

An integrated entrance examination organized by Universitas Indonesia for prospective students who wish to study at UI.
